Gemmel
Cunningham is a native of the Virgin Islands. She migrated to New York in 1958,
graduating from high school, and subsequently graduating from Hunter College with
an undergraduate degree in Economics, and a Master' degree in Counseling and
Student Development. She continued her studies at Brooklyn College where she
earned an Advanced Certificate in Guidance Counseling.
Gemmel began her career at Pace University where she administered a nationally renowned program for over ten (10 years). Eventually she left to work at BOYS and GIRLS high school as a Guidance Counselor. While at Boys and Girls, she served in numerous part-time capacities outside the school, and was an adjunct professor in the Master's program in Guidance Counseling at Brooklyn College. Gemmel is currently retired; but retirement is just a word. She finds herself now as Vice President of Simply To Empower, a personal and business growth and development company, specializing in Business Networking, and Self-Development. She is the Director of Operations for The Empowerment Bookstore, a division of Simply To Empower which is an online and mobile bookstore for self-published authors. Gemmel has committed her life to Christ and to working with the youth. She has a quiet strength that has helped her to overcome most obstacles. Her MOTTO: With God all things are possible.
